William Henry Johnson died at his home in Waverly, Kansas, Feb. 20. The body was brought here on Wed. and interred by the side of his mother, Mrs. Roberta Johnson in Maple Ridge Cem. Mr. Johnson was b. in Trimble Co Ky Nov 21, 1839. When a small child he moved with his parents to Warsaw Ky and to Waveland in 1854. When about 19 he went to California, and in 1870 he went to Independence, Kansas. He came to Waveland and was married to Sarah E. Moore, April 14, 1870 returning to Independence where he lived for some years and then moved to Waverly. Seven children were born to them, all of who are living, except Mrs. Fred Fokely, who died two years ago. Mrs. Johnson, Fred Johnson and Miss Gladys Johnson accompanied the body. Eugene Johnson of Piqua, Ohio, Dr. TB Johnson of Jamestown and Mrs. AE Eastlack of Crawfordville were present. - typed by kbz
